Hello! We are part of the Bainbridge (semi rural - turning suburban) and Auburn (rural) communities near Chagrin Falls, Ohio - 25 miles East of downtown Cleveland. We are an Intermediate School Building of approximately 500 students housing grades 4-5. Wo do have a recycling program thanks much in part to our Elementary Science Lab Teacher, Mrs. Fagerholm, and our community for initiating and taking responsibility to utilize our many bins throughout our 5 school campus. In school each teacher has a recycle container for paper and in the cafeterias we have places to recycle plastic and cans. Twice a week our 2 student council representatives take the brown bags from the classroom containers down to the science lab and then all of the paper is put into the bins in the parking lot that community members may utilize as well. By the front office, we have containers for recycling ink cartridges. We are also utilizing SmartBoard technology and working to scan handouts into our shared drive system to try and reduce paper usage. We will be phasing out classroom printers and soon will be printing directly to the copy machines which cost less to make copies. Additionally, there are several places in the community where other items can be taken for recycling as glass, plastic, cardboard, paper, and more.
